I. Fuel Testing

The Bio-Energy Testing provides fuel testing services for biodiesel, biodiesel blends and regular diesel fuel. All tests are performed following ASTM protocols. The Center supports clients in the biodiesel industry, schools and universities, research institutions, local farms and others. The Center’s fuel testing services complement the performance and emission testing capabilities of the Center for a comprehensive evaluation of biofuels, fuel additives and other engine enhancements products.

II. Performance Testing

The Center’s engine and chassis dynamometers allow us to offer performance testing to a variety of clients. Whether you are interested in evaluating the efficiency of a fuel additive or in fuel economy using biofuels, the Center is geared up in working with you to customize your testing needs.

III. Engine Exhaust Emission Monitoring

With the constantly changing regulations and policies on exhaust gas emissions from the transportation industry, emissions monitoring has became a vital component of every engine performance testing. While the Center is not an EPA certified testing facility, our highly sophisticated emission equipment allows for real-time measurements of 32 different exhaust gases including EPA regulated and non-regulated emissions. Emission testing is normally conducted in conjunction with the engine testing utilizing our AVL SESAM FT-IR Emission Analyzer, Soot Analyzer, FID for total hydrocarbon and paramagnetic detector for oxygen monitoring.
